Turtle Day One.

It's finally here, the week I go for turtle rescues.
It's hard work but so well worth it so far.
Our first night we camped out on the beach.
All I needed was some water, granola bars, a blanket, and of course my camera.
When we first got there they were cracking the eggs open and hatching the turtles.
Hundreds of turtles being released after 45 days of being nested.
All of the boy scouts and some girl scouts were out to help release the turtles at sunset and learn about the endangered creatures.
At Sunset everyone had a little turtle in their hands (Minus me, I wanted photos last night)
& let them go on the count of Tres...
UNO...DUOS...TRES!
All of the little buggers started racing to the finish line, The Pacific Ocean.

Later that night I layed down and watched the stars.
Wished upon a shooting star as well.

I can't wait to learn more throughout the week and help the environment with these beautiful creatures.
Off to bed. 3 a.m comes early. Eggs are waiting.

  4. I envy you SO much! That's exactly what I want to do, rescue marine animals, mainly marine mammals but baby turtles would do :)
